Butterflies, glitter and an encouraging statement. I think that makes a perfect card.
I started off playing around in some recently purchased Stabilo 68 mini pens (courtesy of Blitsy) and a Stampendous Cling Lovely Garden stamp set. I am super new to coloring and blending with markers so I was happy with my second attempt (my first with Tombow dual brush markers). I then decided to stamp two butterflies in Versafine Onyx black ink on the top and bottom of a white cardstock panel and also to stamp the sentiments in different pigment inks.
And then a light bulb clicked on. Why don’t I heat emboss each word with colors similar to the butterflies. I grabbed my MISTI, Colorbox Clearsnap pigment paintbox pad in Love, WOW clear dull embossing powder and got to work. After masking, inking and stamping the words kind and thoughtful from the Concord and 9th Being Classy stamp set I stamped the rest of the sentiment in black ink.
The next step was assembling the card:
- I used my Tombow Xtreme adhesive to attach the card panel to the black card base.
- I cut a thin strip of magenta glitter paper and with my Xtreme adhesive I attached it to the left margin of the card panel.
- For creating the butterflies I had stamped, colored and die cut them out on a piece of watercolor paper. I used my Tombow Mono Multi glue to adhere them to the card panel on top of the stamped butterfly images.
Note: If I were to recreate this card I think I would move the ampersand to fit between words kind and thoughtful.
